Continuation of Remote Schooling
Dear Parents, Guardians and Carers
To increase physical distancing across the population and prevent the transmission of coronavirus (COVID-19), Victoria’s Chief Health Officer has directed that on-site supervision for students in metropolitan Melbourne is available only for Foundation to Year 10 students in the following categories:
- children of Permitted workers who are unable to be supervised at home and no other arrangements can be made
- vulnerable children
- the family is suffering from severe stress.
From Tuesday 11 August 2020, students attending on-site Remote Schooling programs should meet one or more of these requirements.
For single parent families, the parent with whom the student resides must have a Permit for the student to attend on-site schooling.
If you meet one or more of the requirements and you wish to send your child(ren) to school, please register your intention using the attached form (which must be printed off and signed and scanned and emailed back OR delivered to the school). This will enable us to ensure that we have sufficient staff on duty to supervise students in attendance. It should be noted that one form is required for each child.
Permitted workers
Where parents or guardians are permitted workers and intend to send their child(ren) to school, a copy of the Permitted Worker Scheme Permit(s) must be provided to the School.
If necessary, to verify Permits, contact may be made with the employer listed on each Permit.
In some circumstances a worker permit will not be required. This includes law enforcement, emergency services workers or healthcare workers who carry employer-issued photographic identification, which clearly identifies the employer.
Vulnerable students
Vulnerable children include:
- children in out-of-home care
- children deemed by Child Protection and/or Family Services to be at risk of harm
- children identified by the school as vulnerable (including via referral from a family violence agency, homelessness or youth justice service or mental health or other health service).
Severe distress
The school will discuss appropriate arrangements with you where the family is experiencing severe stress due to the functional impact of the child’s disability on providing care and supervision for Remote Schooling (including via referral from external agency, mental health or other health service).
Disability refers to all students receiving adjustments, including (but not limited to) those supported through the Program for Students with Disabilities.
In these instances, the school will take a collaborative family-centred approach to determine appropriate on-site attendance arrangements for children with a disability.
During this difficult time, we must all take care to support one another. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with those who may be unwell, and those who are working to keep our community safe.
If you have any questions in relation to the on-site Remote Schooling arrangements, please contact Mrs Treasa Barwick via email tbarwick@cranbourneeast.catholic.edu.au
Yours sincerely

Principal
Dear Parents
I am sorry that we need to again change the process of applying to have your child attend onsite shooling.
Here is the new intentions form that must be completed in order for a child to be permitted at school.
You will need to complete the form and return to school before your child may attend. If you have sent in your permitted worker permit (stating days/times) or a copy of your law enforcement, first responders, allied health photo ID then you do not need to resend that. You do still have to complete and sign the form.
This is an expectation from the Victorian government and must be followed by all schools. Attendance has to be approved by the principal once the criteria has been met.
Kind regards
Kate Dourley
