Lent is an invitation to renew life
On my drive to and from work each day I see a young eucalypt (gum) tree that underwent a huge trauma in the Spring storms last year. The tree snapped mid way up the trunk and bent at a right angle. It made me sad to see the tree so damaged as it had been a healthy young gum. I expected to watch it wither and die over the following weeks.
Instead the tree leaves remained green and the tree continued life with a completely bent trunk. Over the summer a small green fuzz appeared on the top of the now horizontal trunk. It was new shoots growing upward toward the sun. Now at the end of summer the tree has grown a new canopy!
This little tree is now lively and growing but still damaged and not looking like nearby trees.
When you see broken beyond repair
I see healing beyond belief
When you see too far gone
I see one step away from home
I wish you a reflective Lenten season; taking time to identify what is impacting you, what has become broken and needs healing and to find that light in your life to continue to grow and flourish.
Parent Notified Absences
Parents should notify the school of any absence by 9.00am. This can be done via PAM or alternatively by contacting or emailing the school or your child/ren's teacher.
Please note that any email sent to your child/ren's teacher regarding absences must be sent before 8:00am.
Reminder - Medical details
Please update your child/rens medical details via the Parent Access Module(PAM).
This will enable the school to have to most current and relevant information related to your child/rens medical needs and requirements.
SeeSaw
St Thomas' uses an online platform 'SeeSaw' for parents to have a window into their child's class. Teachers will upload work, share events and experiences so that you can stay connected with your child's experiences in the classroom. Teachers may communicate with you around work on SeeSaw.
It is better for you to contact your child's teacher through email rather than using SeeSaw.
Uniform Reminders
Hats are compulsory until the beginning of May and then from the 1st of September. Please note that due to government health regulations the school cannot provide spare hats to the students.
