Dear families, students and friends
Wishing you a restful break during our school holidays. Your children might be needing a rest - it has been a short but intense term.
We look forward to Term 3 and engaging once again in new learning and opportunities for growth.
Thank you for your support of your child's education.
Kind regards
Kate
First Communion
In term 3, some students will be celebrating their First Holy Communion. This is a very special occasion to mark in their faith journey, as they will be able to join in more fully in the Mass. When the priest says a special prayer and blessing over the bread and wine at Mass, these ingredients become Jesus' gift, of himself, to those who want to take part in the Eucharist. They are going to join in with a tradition that has been celebrated for nearly two thousand years! It's a really big step and we pray that their preparation for this sacrament allows them to be as ready as they will ever be.
Next term, all of our students will be learning about the sacramental of Eucharist in their classrooms, as part of the RE Curriculum.
If you have a child who is a candidate for First Communion, please ensure you are receiving communication from the Parish office in regards to the preparation for this sacrament. If you have not received any emails, please contact the parish office to rectify the communication issue.

Dear Parents
A reminder that Thursday 23rd June is the last day of term 2.
Term 3 begins on Monday 11th July
SCHOOL CARPARK
To ensure that all students arrive and leave school safely each day, all parents/ guardians using the school carpark are asked to use one of the options below at drop off and pick up each day:
- DROP OFF/ PICK UP - All families wanting to drop off/ pick up their children without leaving their vehicle MUST use the car line. There are no other places on school grounds where it is safe for students to be dropped off/ picked up in this way.
- PARENT PARKING – Parents/ guardians wanting to leave their vehicle to drop off/ collect their children MUST park their vehicle in the allocated parent parking spaces. They can then escort their children to the nearest crossing so that students can safely enter the school grounds.
- CROSSINGS – Please ensure you are using the painted crossings with children to teach and reinforce safe road use habits. Staff will direct all members of the community when it is safe to cross.
Our staff work very hard each day to ensure the safety of all members of our community, particularly our children. If you are asked to move your vehicle or are redirected to follow one of the above processes, please respond kindly to these instructions. The safety of all students is always our first priority.
Staffing- Semester 2
Dear Families
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce and welcome Felicity Farrell as the Year 3 teacher replacing Cecilia Kuech for the remainder of 2022.
Reduce Car Trips
When you drive your children directly to school it can add to heavy traffic at drop off and pick up times. Too many cars around schools can make it:
- more dangerous for children, and
- hard to find a parking spot
We encourage all families to see if they can:
- park nearby and walk your child the rest of the way - see map for some suggested starting points
- walk together from home
- ride a bike or scooter
- park at an agreed meeting place and have your older child walk to and from school by themselves
- carpool with friends, family or neighbours
Any change your family can make will be a benefit. It does not have to be every day or every school trip - if you can do any of the above just once per week, it can make a difference. If you can do it more often, it will make a bigger difference.
Attached is our Walking Route to School Map. It shows 4 different walking routes that your family could use. Have a look at the Map and see if you could park & walk from one of these spots. Maybe you live nearby and didn’t realise how short the walk to school could be.
Walking, riding, scooting or skating to school also:
- Helps kids get regular physical activity and build their confidence and life skills
- Research shows that just 20 minutes of walking can increase student’s academic performance
- Is a great way to connect with family, friends and neighbours
- contributes to a healthier environment.
