Dear parents, students and friends
Pope Francis wrote this week:
To all believers, and to men and women of good will, we say: let us become creative artisans of peace, let us build social friendship, let us make our own the culture of dialogue.
We are proud of students as they have returned to the classrooms. They are working at building their social friendships, rediscovering the need to talk and listen in turn, to take turns when playing, to watch out for each other as they run or play chasey. Students are showing smiles, greetings and joy at rekindling old friendships and sharing new friendship. The school has come back to life with the sound of children learning and playing.
I hope you are looking forward to sharing an extra day this weekend with your children. Perhaps going a little further afield for exercise and maybe catching up with someone in a park. It is these small signs of steady movement toward a covid normal which are like the small signs of winter changing to spring then changing again into summer.
I wish you a wonderful Thank You day and from all the staff here at St Thomas' wish you thanks for your wonderful efforts in partnering with us in educating your chidlren.
Kate
End of school day and the Walking School Bus
The school day is currently ending at 2.45 so we can have our pick up. We have reduced playtimes a little so the school day would officially end at 3.15. Children are sitting for long periods in the sun at the end of the day. For this reason we are making some changes
Children walking home will now be released at 3.15. If you wish your child to be held until 3.30 before walking please email principal@cranbourneeast.catholic.edu.au as then we can keep them out of the sun for longer.
Children who will use the Walking School Bus will be able to walk to school from 8.30am to 8.50am - after this time gates will be locked. In the afternoon the Walking School Bus will depart the school at 3.15pm and staff will remain with students until collected. If you wish your child to walk home from here unaccompanied please email principal@cranbourneeast.catholic.edu.au so that supervising staff are aware to let them walk from the collection point.
Any children not collected by 3.30pm will be walked back to school.
Parents collecting students from the pedestrian gate must collect by 3.15pm. If you are collecting after this time please join the car line for collection.
For any queries please email Kate Dourley via principal@cranbourneeast.catholic.edu.au
Your children’s online world is as much a part of their life as offline. With this in mind, it's crucial you are as involved in supporting their online wellbeing as you are their physical health.
